Culled from Inside Higher Education, a useful roundup of education-related news, comes this site: Word Warriors.
Its mission: to bring back great words. Words that we should use more often. Words like "alacrity," "antepenultimate," and "defenestrate."
It's sort of like the Lake Superior State University banned word lists. Only the opposite. It's pretty cool because you even get to vote on whether you like a word. Only the "thumbs down" icon is labeled "not so," and could that be short for "not so much," which is, as we all know, on LSSU's list?
Ahh, the battle of the word geeks. Pick up a shield and wade into the fray.
