Whew (Technically)

Canada's in a recession. Yep. I think most of us saw that "let's face facts" moment coming.

But, we are relieved to learn, we really don't need to worry--it's only a technical recession, according to the Prime Minister and his Finance Minister. Well. Whew, indeed!

During the recent Canadian election, mere weeks ago, the Prime Minister said, "The fundamentals of the Canadian economy are strong," in that "you're too stupid to breathe" tone he adopted from the Decider-in-Chief to the south.

I suppose that insistence explains why the current recession is only technical.

And we all feel better. Technically.

Sheesh.
