Next week I'm "going American" to celebrate Thanksgiving.
In October, I was on the road and therefore missed Thanksgiving when it was on the minds of Canadians. Next week, I will be making another trip south of the border and will enjoy the holiday with a brother and much of his family.
The thing is, people up here have blithely scheduled events as if the holiday, or my absence, doesn't matter. Don't they know I'll be gone and therefore miss the readings (at least two, possibly three!), the meetings, the deadlines, the dinner-dance, the concerts?
It's as if the mice are playing while this cat is, um, also playing, I guess. Never mind.
