I Stand Corrected

You know, I really didn't think I could be sorrier about the whole "Canadian Patriotic Song" thing than I was yesterday. However....

At YouTube, you can see the modern equivalents of Canadian patriotic songs. This one is more of an anthem (hence its title). This one is definitely saucy, but it helps to know the song and associate it with that wacky movie, Benny and Joon.

For the ultimate in Canadian patriotism, you'll have to go to YouTube yourself and search for "I am Canadian!" because I can't get it to load properly.

And yes, here's the ironic twist you were waiting for: these videos are commercials from a beer company, Molson Canadian. Molson Canadian was recently purchased by Coors, an American company. Isn't that sorta just Yankee Doodle all over again?

And now, I can only hope I won't be writing about patriotic songs for awhile.
